12 And the manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the land. And there was no longer manna for the people of Israel, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
Joshua 5:11-12
I literally read the book of Joshua two weeks ago, and I read this verse but didn’t think anything about it. However, as I was sitting and mediating Tuesday, this verse was revealed to me. I had to read it twice because I didn’t see the significance in it, BUT God!!
So, I don’t know who this devotion is for, but it’s for somebody, and I hope you hear or read what you’ve been needing to walk into that promise of God.
The Israelites were getting ready to walk into the land that God had promised them in the wilderness. So, in this text, we see that the manna had stopped for that reason. For those of you who don’t know, manna is a type of bread. The Israelite’s were in the wilderness for almost 40 years. Can you imagine being in the wildness and only eating bread quail, I know they were sick of it.
God had already told them that he was taking them into a new place that would overflow with blessings, but it was up to them to have faith to get there. And that’s what God is trying to tell us today. God is getting ready to take you into a new place; you’ll no longer need/want those things that you had in your wilderness season.
When he takes you into that new season, it’s going to cause you to leave some stuff behind because you’re walking into something so much better. No matter what it was from your past, it’s going to stop, you’re going to have to cut it off, no dealing! That’s what is saying in verse, the manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the new land. It means they longer needed things from the past because they had everything, they needed in the land that God had promised.
So yeah, I hope this has been the word that you needed to hear today. Just continue to seek God and have faith because you’re right on the outskirts of the Promise that God gave you!
Prayer,

Thank You, God, for the promises that I’m getting ready to walk in. Lord, just lead and guide me in the way that you would have me to go. Just help me not to hold on to the things in my wilderness season because I know that you have better for me. Lord, I just Thank You, and I love you. In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen Amen
