The Parable of the man sowing seeds.

Mark 4:1-20

Jesus often used parables to help others understand his word on another level by using stories. I, personally loves parables and they’re my favorite thing to read in the Bible.

So in this parable, Jesus uses an example of a farmer planting seeds. The farmer is the one who teaches Gods word, and when the farm was planting seeds. They fell in different areas. So, Jesus relates this to the seeds falling in different areas to people who hear the word of God but easily get distracted or stray away from it.

The THREE places they fell

1. The first seed was planted on a rocky ground (gravel)

I. The seeds grew in a rocky area because there was not enough soil there. The roots weren't strong because it wasn't growing properly, so the plant didn't last long.

II. In the beginning, we may feel eager and excited about doing something, but that feeling is short term because it's not rooted in us. When it comes time to actually doing something, we're less excited and not as eager. Those feelings where "in the moment feelings". We have to be rooted in God's words, so when the time comes, we will keep that same feeling of excitement and eagerness.

2. Others are like a seed planted among the thorns

I. The seed was grown with thorns, and as we know thorns can be a pain in the BUTT. The plant was not able to grow because of this thorns.

II. Jesus references this to the worries of the world, and how they are holding us back. The deceitfulness of wealth and desires of worldly things.

III. I still find myself in worldly thing because it is hard not to worry about stuff when you're still in this world living in flesh. Flesh can make us do things because that's our human nature. However, this is when our spiritual being comes into place. During times like this, we have to be strong and fast and pray for those fleshly things to go away.

3. Then there are the seeds that are planted on the Good ground

I. They hear the teaching they understand what’s going on and embrace it and produce a harvest beyond their wildest dream.”

II. That is all God wants from us, is to embrace his word and share with ours.
