“God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble.”
Psalms 46:1 ERV
"God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.” The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety. Selah”
Psalms 46:10-11 ERV
Do you have a favorite safe place? A place where you know when a storm comes you know you're safe there. Has a storm ever invaded that safe place?
According to Pop Culture Dictionary, a safe space is a physical or metaphorical place for people, usually of marginalized identities, to feel free of judgment or harm
When we seek shelter in God, we should know that we are automatically safe. However, there may be times when the devil may try to take over your safe place. He will have you question a lot of things. I found my self like that last week. I was seeking God all week in my safe place, and the next thing you know here comes the devil. I didn’t understand why I felt like that or why those thoughts were going through my mind. It’s like the more I drew near to God, the more the devil begin to attack.
Honestly, after this, I felt defeated, but I continued to bury myself in God's words. In this verse, David says that God is our refuge and strength, and always there in our time of trouble. Sometimes God will allow your safe place to be invaded to see that he is still in control. It’s so hard to be at peace when everything else around you is in chaos, but you truly have to believe in that voice of GOD. God always said he would never leave nor forsake us. So I just want to encourage you onto day stay in your safe place with God, even though it still may seem rocky he’s still there. Don’t give up, don’t let the devil take over. You’ll overcome because he overcame it all for us!
Prayer
Dear God,
I thank you, I thank you for being my safe place even when it’s shaken up. Lord the devil is so busy right now, but you’re busier. Lord, I thank you in advance for what you’re about to do. I just pray that you will help me over this feeling of defeat. Thank you, and I love you. Amen amen!
