How are you asking?

“You long for something you don’t have, so you commit murder. You are jealous for something you can’t get, so you struggle and fight. You don’t have because you don’t ask. You ask and don’t have because you ask with evil intentions, to waste it on your own cravings.”

James 4:2-3 CEB

You may wonder why some of the things you’ve been asking for have not come to pass. God knows what you need before you ask. He knows and feels if you are sincere are not. He’s seeing if you’re being patient enough.

In one part of the verse, it talks about being jealous of something you can’t get so you struggle! A WORD! I know some of us in the new generation are trying to figure out life right now. We see some who have it all together, and then some don’t. I’ve often compared myself to others, simply because it seems like they had it all together. Once you start trying to live out others' dreams and lifestyles, you have missed what God has for you. I know It's hard seeing everyone around you doing good and living out their dreams. I had to stop comparing myself to others and just accept what God has for me.

You should ask God for what you need and not for what you want; make your desires known to him. He will bestow everything unto you. However, if we are asking God for stuff with the wrong intentions, then, of course, he’s not going to give it to you. So let's remember when we are asking, we should be pure and honest about what it is. Let's not ask for things that others have or to satisfy our desires, but Gods.

You’ll be amazed at all the things God will give you. Open up your mouth and ask God! God will give it to you for sure if it’s going to make you a better person or upbuild his kingdom. Even though you might not get it as soon as you ask, just be patient and he will give it to you at the right time!

Dear God, I thank you for all that you're doing and all that you’re going to do. Lord forgive me for comparing my life to others. Lord, I pray that you can prepare me for what I’m getting ready to receive. Help me to open up my mouth and ask for the right things. Lord, help me to stop trying to fill my worldly desires and just focus on you. I thank you, and I love you in Jesus name I pray amen
