8 "The LORD is merciful and compassionate, very patient, and full of faithful love.
9 The LORD is good to everyone and everything; God's compassion extends, to all his handiwork!"
Pslams145:8-9 CEB
Aren’t you glad that God gives us an unmeasurable amount of grace and mercy not just to you; but to everyone? Well, everyone is not like that. You know we always heard the story of Jonah in the fish belly, but did you understand the rest of the story. If not, I’ll sum it up for you.
The main reason why Jonah ended up in the belly of the fish was that he was running from God. He did not want to go to Nineveh and tell the people to repent. Once Jonah realized that he couldn’t run from God any longer, he started praying, and that’s when God showed mercy on him and allowed the fish to spit him back up.
Jonah ended up going to Nineveh and telling the people about the destruction that would happen in 40 days if they didn’t seek God. The Nineveh did believe in God, so when Jonah spoke, they listened and repented. Well, the 40 days had come, and God hadn’t destroyed the town, He had mercy on them because they did repent.
Jonah was upset that God had shown mercy to the people of Nineveh. He thought that they were not worthy of God's mercy. Have you ever felt like that? Why does God bless and give mercy to people who don’t deserve it? Truth is none of us deserve God’s grace and mercy, but yet he still gives it to us. We too can feel like Jonah, it’s like we can see people live their best life out here sinning, but we know that if they ask God for forgiveness; He will give it to him.
So, Jesus basically tells Jonah you haven’t always lived a sin-free life; that same mercy that I extended to you, you shall extend to others. It’s so easy for us to get caught up in other flaws/sins as if we don't or still have flaws/sins of our own. The same grace and mercy God gives us should be the same grace and mercy that we extend to others, no matter what the circumstances are. Because ALL sinned and fallen short of God's glory (that’s a shout right there) BUT YET AND STILL God sent his only son to die for us so that everyone could receive his grace and mercy! Amen Amen!!! (yall I felt the presence of God while writing this part)
Thank You, God, Thank You, Jesus, for your grace and mercy!!!!

Here's the song Reckless love that I use as my background music. If you would just take a moment and allow this song to resinate in your Sprit.
