Mark 9: 23-24 CEB
‘Jesus said to him, "‘If you can do anything’? All things are possible for the one who has faith." At that the boy’s father cried out, "I have faith; help my lack of faith!"
In the previous text, we see that a boy has been possessed. Jesus and his crew, (Peter, James, and John) approached the crowd and everyone rushed up to Jesus at once. Jesus stopped to ask “what y’all got going on.” The father of the possessed son told Jesus that he had spoken with his disciples, and they couldn’t get the demon out. I think Jesus got a little mad because he responded with aggression by saying, "you faithless generation."
Jesus went to see the little boy, and the demon started to take over his body. Jesus questioned the father, then the father said, “if you can do anything help us. Show mercy on us.” Immediately Jesus said IF? Jesus was like what are you trying to say, why would you even question my capability? First of all, ALL things are possible for the ones who have faith. At that moment, the man knew he was lacking in his faith and started asking God to help him were he was lacking.
In this moment of the scripture, I thought about wants to go on in the world right now. The coronavirus has people going crazy and it's like why is Jesus letting this happen. The world has started putting their trust in man, instead of God. The time has come to where we need to put all our faith in God, no matter what. We should lean not on our understanding, but more towards HIS.
Faith is believing in things we hope for that we cannot see. So let's keep that in mind just have faith in God, and believe in whatever his will is for us.
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for allowing me to see another day. There's so much stuff going on right now, God. I pray that you would wrap your arms around each person and let them know you are here. I pray that you help my little faith, God I pray that you can increase my faith right now. Lord remove all fear and doubt right now and give me a strength to endure what is to come, so when its all said and done you will get all the praise and all the glory. Amen Amen Amen!
